Conrad Electronic was founded in 1923 in Berlin by Max Conrad, initially supplying parts for home-built radio receivers; per the company's own account, the business relocated to Hirschau in the Upper Palatinate after the war (from 1946, on its current site since 1953). Today it trades as Conrad Electronic SE and describes itself as a digital B2B and B2C procurement platform for electronics, technology and industrial supplies operating across 17 European countries.

Per Conrad's own support pages, private customers (B2C) have the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, with free return shipping within Germany via a prepaid DHL or GLS label processed through Conrad's returns portal. Registered "Conrad PRO" business customers get a 30-day return right instead of 14; there is no statutory right of withdrawal on marketplace purchases in the B2B segment.
